Student Accommodation

Read the passage carefully.

Many students look for accommodation before starting university. Some students choose to live in dorms on campus because they are close to classes and have shared facilities such as kitchens and study rooms. Others prefer to live off campus for more privacy.

Ahmed decided to rent an apartment near a bus line because it was easy to travel to university. The apartment was unfurnished, so he had to buy a bed and a desk. His landlord required a security deposit before he could move in, but the money was refundable at the end of the year if there was no damage.

Ahmed’s friend Sami chose a co-op with a meal plan included. He shared a triple room with two other students. Although it was cheaper, the downside was the lack of privacy.

One day, Ahmed had a problem with the water heater in his apartment. He sent a request to the manager and asked if it was possible to fix it quickly. The manager replied, “Sorry, I’m afraid the repair will take two days.”

What is Beautiful Architecture?

Beautiful architecture is more than creating large or expensive buildings. Good architecture combines beauty, function, and comfort. Architects design buildings that are useful for people while also looking attractive. A beautiful building should fit its environment and meet the needs of the people who use it.

Many architects believe that balance and simplicity are important in design. Some modern buildings use glass, steel, and natural light to create open and welcoming spaces. Older buildings, however, may use stone, wood, and traditional decorations. Both modern and traditional styles can be beautiful in different ways.
